1st Haircut, 2nd Easter, Umpteenth Love

Belle was in desperate need of a haircut. I let her mullet-out for a long time, but once her eyesight was impaired, I decided it was time for a trim.

Stage 1: Mommy cuts Belle's hair
Belle repeats, "Mama hurt! Mama hurt!" Thank goodness we were in our own home!

This is actually a flattering angle of the haircut massacre.

Stage 2: I take Belle to "Cool Kids Cuts" where she gets to a) Play with toys & other children, which she adores. b) sit in a Belle sized firetruck c) watch the movie of her choice on her personal TV (she chose Elmo's musical numbers)  and d) eat a duck cookie (both before and after. I was going to attempt during, but as you can see....not so much)

I have no idea how the amazing "Miss Barbara" (also Belle's boyfriend's hairdresser) got anything straight, but somehow she did!

So Belle took her stinkin' cute new haircut self to Emma's house for Easter (oh and Aunt Laura, Uncle Tom, Casey, John & Dan live there too. But to Belle, it's Emma's house)

But first, she had to open her Easter basket! It was the first time that she understood she was opening a present! Very exciting for Mommy. Then we had a delicous breakfast with Uncle J & Bree, and of course, put some bunny ears on dog.

Riding along with cousin Casey

Drinking "egg juice", as Belle calls it. (She has since asked for it repeatedly at home! I really need to ask Laura what kind of juice was in the egg b/c whatever I put in there is not it! haha)

Jumping on the trampoline!

When she saw Grandma pulling the twins in the little red wagon, she had to hop in!

I think the little had quite the Easter!

Last but not leat, Belle has discovered a love of Nutella AKA "tella"

Coronado! (Grab a glass of wine...this one is long!)

We just got back from an amazing trip to Coronado! We drove, and Belle did a fantastic job in the car!

We stayed at the Hotel del Coronado

with the ghost of "Kate"...

And immediately hit the beach!

Much to Belle's delight!

It was windy which made it a little chilly

But Belle didn't mind!

She sat right down in the water and tried to crabwalk into the ocean (dubbed "osh")

Afterwards, we buddled up, took a quick (and cold!) dip in the pool

And got ready for dinner

The next day, Daddy had to attend some conferences, so we had girly morning complete with Belle's new love, the "California" omlette

Then, of course it was off to the "osh" again! Belle could not contain her excitement!

That night, Belle played with her friends Anaka and Laila while Pat & I had a delicious seafood dinner! They read her new favorite book (over & over), "Blue Hat, Green Hat" with the "silly turk-ey".

The next morning was quite cold so we opted for the indoor aquarium at Scripps, even though Belle was ready for sunshine!

At first, Belle thought it would be great to pet the fish...

But she quickly decided that they were "ick-y"!

I would like to say that Belle loved the rest of the aquarium, but she spent most of the time telling the fish to "go away". The eels got the brunt of it, with a loud, "No like!"

The "neighs" (seahorses) got the friendliest Belle... a shy wave.

Finally, it was time to leave that terrible place! ;)

And go where?

Point to it, Belle!

The "osh"!!!!

And now I leave you with thoughts from Belle...

Teacher's Pet

This is me, just brushing my "neigh's" hair. I'm kind of obsessed with "neighs"..... and fish.

When I go to swim class (where I am teacher's pet, pardon the pun) I point to myself and say, "fish".

Blue Skies

My internet has been down! Hence the lack of blogs. :( Annnd... I'm feeling lazy so these pics are from my phone, but cute nonetheless! So here's what Belle has been up to lately:

Belle wore a fancy dress to dinner

Fell in love with her "babies", which are my Madame Alexander dolls from when I was small. We close their eyes each night and say, "Night Night Babies" as we turn out the lights. In the morning Belle says, "Wake up, Baby!"

She also feel in love with Elmo. Ok, nothing new there, but she is particularly in love with a new movie "Elmo's ABC". She calls the movie "J moon" because her favorite part is the letter j rotating on a purple moon. She also said "marvelous" after watching the m section.

And something Mommy thinks is marvelous... pig tails! Unfortunately Belle is not a fan, so she has not been subjected to them since. But I have a feeling I won't be able to resist another try for much longer.

Now that the afternoons can get hot (yes, already!), we go to the "no neigh" park (the park without horses, as apposed to the "neigh" park by Gma & Gpa) almost every morning

Daddy has dubbed Belle "the commentator" and at no time is this clearer than at the park! She likes to tell us what's happening as we do it: "on slide", "look moon", "tub in", etc. She walks around the park repeating everything anyone says! She also answers any question. So, if a mom says to her child, "Do you want to go on the slide?" Belle will reply "no". Pretty funny. She loves to play with the other children, and walks right up, waves and says, "hi". She then produces some treasure, usually a rock, sometimes sand, offers it to the child and says, "give". She is a little chatterbox! She can say at least 2 syllables now, although she prefers to nick-name things. Lotion = losh, rhinoceros = rhinas, avocado = avocad, etc, etc. She says full sentences, responds to all of my questions, and definitely expresses her opinion! She could not be more fun!
